Eric McClellan recently had the honor of giving Pediatric Grand Rounds, where he presented on “The Road Less Traveled: Pioneers and Progress in the Care of Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.” In his talk, Eric took the audience on a captivating journey through the history of congenital heart disease, highlighting the groundbreaking work of pioneers who shaped the field. He shared fascinating stories about the bold, sometimes complicated, individuals whose innovations in heart surgery and care have made it possible for babies with HLHS to survive and thrive today.
It was a great opportunity to reflect on the progress we’ve made and the challenges that remain in caring for these incredibly resilient patients.
