Published: KNDy neurons and sexual differentiation of the gonadotropic axis

The KNDy neurons, located in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus, play a crucial role in regulating the pathways responsible for masculinizing the male brain. In this study, we explored how these neurons function during mid-gestation, a critical period in brain development.

Understanding the mechanisms behind fetal brain development is vital, as it has lasting consequences throughout life. Disruptions in these early processes can impact brain function. By shedding light on how KNDy neurons influence brain masculinization, we can gain a deeper understanding of the complex neurodevelopmental processes that shape behavior, physiology, and health across the lifespan.
