Neeka Barooni joins Jonker Lab

We’re excited to welcome Neeka Barooni to the Jonker Lab! Neeka recently completed her PhD under the mentorship of Carrie McCurdy at the University of Oregon, where she developed a strong foundation in studying cellular processes. She’s also worked with samples from our collaborator Laura Brown at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, further honing her skills in understanding complex biological systems.

Neeka brings a wealth of experience to our team, particularly in working with fetal sheep cardiomyocytes and skeletal muscle cells. Her expertise in flow cytometry is an invaluable addition, and we’re excited about the insights she’ll bring as we continue to explore the intricate mechanisms behind cardiac development and disease.

We look forward to Neeka’s contributions and to the exciting projects we’ll tackle together in the coming months!
